The ARAC Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA) is a signed agreement between the ARAC Full Members whereby the signatories recognize and accept the equivalence of the accreditation systems operated by the signing members, and also the reliability of the conformity assessment results provided by conformity assessment bodies accredited by the signing members. This recognition is based on the proper operation of the accreditation systems and activities implemented by accreditation bodies which sign this agreement. In order to maintain mutual confidence between bodies that are signatories to the ARAC MLA, a program of the following activities is required:
- Participation in peer evaluation and re-evaluation;
- Exchange of information on the development and operation of accreditation systems;
- Participation of personnel from ARAC MLA members in assessment, re-assessment or surveillance visit to conformity assessment bodies performed by other ARAC MLA member bodies;
- Participation in ARAC Committees meetings.
