Arab Accreditation Week

In its second edition, Arab Accreditation Week is commemorating the World Accreditation Day 2021 is aiming at highlighting the role of accreditation in supporting the implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goals. In this context, ARAC is organizing the Arab Accreditation Week [AAW] during the period 06-11 June 2021 under the theme “Together towards enhancing the role of accreditation in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Arab region”.

The 9th of June 2021 marks the World Accreditation Day [WAD], a global initiative established by International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation [ILAC] and International Accreditation Forum [IAF] to promote the value of accreditation. The theme of this year’s WAD 2021 has been chosen to ensure that policymakers continue to use accreditation and QI services to support their SGD Agenda.

This great occasion provides the opportunity for ARAC members to share examples of how accreditation and QI services contribute to increasing trade, addressing health and safety concerns, and improving the general overall quality of output at national and regional levels.

A number of online activities will be held during the AAW to demonstrate the ways for further developing the accreditation infrastructure in the Arab region and highlight the pivotal role it plays in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Arab region. In addition to the above AAW includes a number of capacity building activities that will be implemented to strengthen the ARAC members competencies.
