Theme: Empowering Small and Medium Enterprises in the Arab Region – Driving Innovation, Creating Jobs, and Supporting Local Communities through Accreditation
As part of the global celebration of World Accreditation Day 2025, Arab Accreditation Week (AAW) marks its 6th edition with a focus on how accreditation empowers Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)—the backbone of economic activity in the Arab region. Under the theme “Empowering Small and Medium Enterprises in the Arab Region: Driving Innovation, Creating Jobs, and Supporting Local Communities through Accreditation,” AAW 2025 highlights the vital role of accreditation in building SME competitiveness, improving product and service quality, and facilitating market access.
Throughout the week, ARAC and its partners will deliver a series of targeted training and awareness sessions to strengthen technical capacity, enhance stakeholder engagement, and promote regional harmonization in line with international standards. Special emphasis is placed on showcasing the contributions of ARAC stakeholder members and Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) in supporting SMEs through accessible and credible conformity assessment services.

| 16–17 June 2025 | Training on ISO 50003:2014 & ISO 50001:2018 | A comprehensive two-day training on accreditation requirements for Energy Management System (EnMS) Certification Bodies. This session supports SMEs in adopting energy-efficient practices and reducing operational costs through accredited certification to ISO 50001. |
| 18–19 June 2025 | Training on OH&SMS Level 4 and 5 Standards (ISO/IEC TS 17021-10 & ISO 45001) | This two-day session focuses on accreditation of OH&SMS Certification Bodies, equipping participants with technical knowledge to assess occupational health and safety standards—a key area for SME workforce protection and legal compliance. |
| 19 June 2025 | Awareness Session on FSSC 22000 | This session explores the FSSC 22000 food safety management system, emphasizing how accredited certification enables SMEs in the food sector to meet international standards, gain market trust, and join global supply chains. |
| 19 June 2025 | The Role of ARAC Stakeholder Members in Building Trust in SME Products Through Metrology, Testing, and Proficiency Testing | This session showcases the contributions of ARAC stakeholder members, including the United Group for Conformity Assessment Bodies (UGCAB), in supporting SMEs by providing reliable metrology, testing, and proficiency testing services. These services help SMEs ensure product quality, meet regulatory requirements, and build trust with markets and consumers. |
